ANTHROPOI
(verse)
ANTHROPOI
Once awake, from out the gloom
of russet forest cave they see;
the morning sun, a ghost it looms
in fuchsia firelight through the trees
***
The gatherers, the hunters they
together bound before conceit
unravelled, as in present day,
entwined they close, for life to meet
***
Such beings we are, and not these fools
of vain idols and bigotry,
So doomed to Tantalean pools
by media dumb, with dark money

Beautiful and timely words, 🙏
Another great poem. Reminds me of Plato’s cave. Beautiful, Ross.✨
