If I may, I believe this entire matter is linked to experiential mysticism. Thus the rational must admit to its inability to fully define the experience. The best we can do is to attempt to place these forces into a context that is as faithful to the experience as possible.
Any experience of source is by nature mysticism. Since source is discovered through negation and the retracing of steps from current existence to a deeper underlying state, it must be latent within one's life. To discover this in the world as well means it must be latent there as well. When experience melds this together, we are left to consider a condition of existence where manifestation arrives from a singular state.
Plato's forms appear to be an attempt to combine life and mystical experience into a unity of understanding, one done quite brilliantly.
