What fascinates me most is the paradox you raise between the universe and consciousness. The universe may precede us, of course, but its being perceived, ordered through time, and ultimately recognized happens only when something within it becomes capable of observing it. In this sense, consciousness doesn’t seem to me to be something standing apart from the universe; it is a part of the universe that, through perception, somehow allows it to turn back toward itself. Perhaps this is precisely where myth and philosophy meet again.
Taking as I am wont to do, a path of my own here, I view myth itself as an essential form of cognition. Mythic thinking isn't especially kind to one's developed sensibilities, yet it is a method through which many threads of human experience are woven together. I enjoy the fact that Schopenhauer gave room for myth, and think higher of him for it.
Youngest of the Titans is an important observation. This addition has much to do with how one views the phenomenal world when one steps at least partially beyond it.

I think that last observation, and the humour, is something you would share with Schopenhauer; he found the fact that all of those scientists and historians of his own day assumed they were dealing with an independent reality, when in fact it was only the world as it appeared in the mind quite ridiculous. That's where he talked about the "laughter of the Olympians"

Yes. And if the “Mind” creates universal principles or formative forces within consciousness, Where does group delusion or “mob” behavior fit in to that creation? Leaving aside any already described “Supreme Deity” as part of the mechanism, how can we evolve past the closed loop of growth, overgrowth, failure, destruction, and move forward again toward a “more evolved mind” and away from self destruction?
I'm not sure if we have too much choice in these things. On the other hand, I don't think there's anything fundamentally to worry about. The world of changing appearances is not who or what we really are.

So we are both human, and we transcend being human too
