I think that dreams are, just as Freud mentioned, manifestations of unconscious desires. They don't need to be our own; they can be ancestral desires, such as dreaming of being a knight dominating the world. All dreams carry all the archetypes of humanity. Australian Aboriginals have a lot of this symbology in their culture. All dreams belong to all human beings.

Beautiful. Dreams are a pathway not only to the unconscious but also to the pre-birth self. Poetry connects us to that self, as this piece does, by unearthing and elevating that HIGHER SELF.

To dream perchance to die/ dream images can be confusing things/ I often dream I'm back at work in many a different job/ I enjoyed your remembrance.

It’s striking that though some dream images seem ephemeral and are soon forgotten, others reappear and are reinforced by references to them in other dreams, or remain vivid for decades. So much so that I’m convinced that I have actually walked through various subterrainean passageways but forgotten their exact location, which must actually be dream experiences.

Absolutely - and the way that these places - which really have no counterpart in the waking world - are pretty consistent in themselves, and we sometimes seem to awake to another life in the dreams, a life that has a conherence!
