The priest, he was a healer when,
upon a time before the fall,
of heavy doom, that gods and men
sundered, near beyond recall

Journeyed wide, with limbs quite still
as death or sleep, on wheels of thought,
Led he by maids and mares on will,
until before a goddess brought

There, at the spinning hub of things,
as much within as all beyond
upon the spokes and outer rings,
She greeted him as lover fond

One being to another there,
revealed the goddess unity;
the plains of change, and aquifer
of Being, sure past certainty
