I was kindly given an album of new music to review by a friend here on substack who is also the composer; Fran Santiago who’s publication is the excellent “Metaphysical Spain”.
A wonderful album of lush sonic landscapes. The tracks are varied in rhythm, but wound around electronic percussion, with syncopated beats reminiscent of some of Peter Gabriel’s work. The occasional flourishes of strings and acoustic guitar sounds add variety and depth. So too,the nod to reggae on the gorgeous track 7, which includes a spoken sample from the philosopher, Ortega Y Gasset. It is an album of moods, following on the philosophical concept of Antonio Escohotado to whom the composer is devoted. A remarkable set of ambient pieces.
Odd, I can’t seem to find this on streaming, and you don’t link to it there. Is this a pre-release?
